For Immediate Release:
Eschewing Corporate PACs, Businesswoman has Consistently Outraised Incumbent Career Politician Tom McClintock in Competitive Northern California House District
ROSEVILLE, CA – Businesswoman Brynne Kennedy announced today that she raised over $836,000 in the third quarter for her contest against CA 04 incumbent Rep. Tom McClintock. This brings her total amount raised during the pandemic-altered election cycle to over $2.2 million. While McClintock has not yet released his quarterly numbers, Kennedy had already out-raised McClintock in each of the prior two reporting periods.
Without accepting a dime of Corporate PAC money, Kennedy received nearly 7400 contributions in the quarter ending September 30th —90% of which came from California and over 60% of which came from residents of California’s 4th District.
“In the face of career politician Tom McClintock’s divisive and inept response to a deadly pandemic, devastating recession and historic wildfire season, the people of California’s 4th District are speaking with their hard earned dollars to demand real change,” Kennedy said. “While Tom McClintock is campaigning for more chaos and partisan dysfunction, we’re building a campaign that brings people together to defeat COVID 19, rebuild our economy, and manage our forests so we can get our communities back to normal.”
While McClintock has refused to wear a mask, attacked public health guidelines deemed essential to save lives and sustain re-opening of schools and businesses, and voted against bi-partisan COVID relief (the only member from California, Democrat or Republican, to do so), Kennedy has called for pragmatic problem solving, worked to connect constituents with relief resources, and personally sourced PPE and other donations for local hospitals and wildfire victims.
An accomplished businesswoman who pioneered new tools to help businesses and workers succeed in an era of increasingly mobile work arrangements, Kennedy is waging the strongest challenge McClintock has faced since first winning this seat in 2008.
Kennedy has been endorsed by a broad coalition of more than 80 current and former local elected leaders, as well as regional leaders from across the political spectrum: including former GOP Congressman Pete McCloskey and 2010 California Republican Nominee for Governor Meg Whitman.
Brynne Kennedy is running for Congress in California’s Fourth District because she believes Americans can do more together. An accomplished businesswoman and one of the first women to build and lead a successful technology company, Brynne has pioneered new solutions to help employers and workers thrive in increasingly mobile and remote work settings. As our voice in Washington, she will fight to take our government back from the corrupt special interests and will put partisanship aside to put our communities first.
